Christmas Comes Early

My Christmas present from Nathan arrived yesterday!

This was originally his idea... wanted to teach me how to shoot and handle a gun. At first I was thinking about all of the clothes, shoes, and purses I would rather have! But now, believe it or not, I am actually very excited about this present.

On our trip to the gun store to look and get a feel for what size I needed, I felt a little silly as I didn't really know how to handle it. Thankfully, the older gentleman at the store was very patient with me. Nathan did tell him not to worry that I wouldn't be on the streets with it anytime soon :-)

Nathan had it all cleaned by the time I got home from work last night and was ready to show me how to handle it. I'm anxious for our first trip to the shooting range!

Don't worry Mom, it is put away in a safe place!

You go, girl! Shane would love to go to the shooting range with you. If you're ever up this way, bring your new toy along. :)

Carla,
Nathan is sure hoping he can make a country girl out of me. I (secretly) enjoy most of the country life style, but we can't let him know that :-)

He must be thinking of your safety but sounds a little scary to me....I just want you to know that I want to always be your FRIEND!!! :D

I got a gun when we moved to the country too! I really like shooting it. I think it does help keep the husband in line!!!

Nice gift. I shot my sisters gun one time and we could never figure out what I had aimed at or where the bullet had gone. After that episode, Dan decided the only way he would let me have a gun was when I was hunting...of course he has to be with me:)

I am impressed! I have only shot a gun once in my life....Guns make me very nervous, but it IS propably a good thing to know how to use. :) Good for you!
Merry Christmas!
